The terms that govern use of this site, our programmes, the Builders Fund and donations.
Who these terms are with
This site is operated by LET AFRICA BUILD LAB LIMITED, Reg. No 8777525, Lagos, Nigeria. By using it you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
Using this site
You may read, quote and link to anything here. You may not attempt to break into it, disrupt it, scrape it at a scale that degrades it for other people, or use it to send anyone unlawful or abusive content.
Applying to a programme
Applying is free. Sending an application does not create an obligation on either side and does not guarantee a place. Selection is at our discretion.
Please tell us the truth. If an application turns out to be materially inaccurate we may withdraw an offer or end a placement.
The Builders Fund
Applications are made on GitHub using our published template, and selected projects are asked to list on the LAB Artizen Fund page in order to take part in the matching pool. Those platforms have their own terms, which apply to your use of them.
Selection is not a promise of a particular amount. Matched funding depends on what the pool raises and on the rules of the round.
Donations
Donations are voluntary and are not a purchase. You receive no goods, services, equity or entitlement in return.
Card donations are processed by Paystack in Naira. We do not refund donations, except where a payment was taken in error. If that happens, contact us quickly and we will put it right.
We cannot give you tax advice about a donation.
Cryptocurrency donations are irreversible
Each wallet address on our donate page works on one network and one network only: Bitcoin on the Bitcoin network, USDC on Ethereum, USDT on Solana.
Sending an asset to the wrong address, or over the wrong network, destroys it permanently. Nobody can recover it, including us. Check the address and the network before you send anything, and send a small test amount first if you are unsure.
Content and intellectual property
The text, design, photographs and marks on this site belong to LAB unless we say otherwise. You may quote from it with credit and a link.
Open source projects built in our programmes are released under their own licences. Those licences govern what you may do with that code, not these terms.
Nothing here is advice
Nothing on this site is financial, investment, legal or tax advice. We write about Bitcoin and related technology because it is what the builders in our programmes work on.
Digital assets can lose value, and transactions in them cannot be reversed. Make your own decisions, and take professional advice where you need it.
Availability and liability
We work to keep this site available and accurate, but we do not promise that it will always be available, or free of errors, or that any figure on it is current at the moment you read it.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site or of any site we link to. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when we last did.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Lagos State have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
